Sunlight is composed of a spectrum of rays

Sunlight contains an entire spectrum of rays spanning infrared, visible, ultraviolet and UVB wavelengths that help our bodies regulate body temperature while visible and ultraviolet wavelengths stimulate vitamin D production and other hormones while simultaneously protecting us from harmful radiation exposure.

UVB wavelengths contain the highest frequencies within this solar spectrum that further promote this response by attacking cholesterol in our skin; this reaction accounts for part of the increase in testosterone seen when exposed to direct sunlight.

Researchers conducted the study at Tel Aviv Sourasky and Assuta Medical Centers under controlled conditions, where participants were exposed to UVB rays.

After each treatment session, blood levels of hormones such as testosterone and cortisol were measured before and after exposure.

Participants completed questionnaires about romantic passion and aggressive tendencies - results showed both men and women experienced an increase in romantic passion from UVB therapy treatments.

Sunlight and Vitamin D

How to get more Sunlight Safely
